Have Truck, Will HaulMake money doing yard cleanups. |

I can tell you first hand that there is a tremendous need for people who are willing to do yard clean ups. A lot of people don't have a way to haul a yard full of trash or yard debris (branches, leaves, etc.) away. Over time, it piles up and before they know it, they are overwhelmed. Luckily for them, you have a truck and for a small fee, you can help them get squared away. Before you start your yard clean-up business you'll need to figure out where you are going to haul the waste. In some communities, they have a free disposal site but in others you will have to pay. You might also need a permit or license if you are doing it commercially although I think if you are just doing a load here and there nobody is going to care. Naturally, you'll want to seek qualified legal advice to settle these issues. The business itself should be pretty easy to run. Hop in your truck, drive around looking for ratty yards, and ask if they would like some help cleaning up. Trust me, a lot of people will be incredibly happy to see you and you should have no trouble finding work. You could also go out after storms and help people with fallen and broken trees. A small display ad in your local paper (a small paper, not a big one) should be affordable and if you run it consistently, people will eventually figure out that when they need help, you are the guy to call. |
